male-contraceptionA natural and effective method of contraception for males has been discovered by two French scientists. The method consists of warming up the testicles which would reduce men’s fertility.

Testicular temperature is usually a few degrees lower than that of the rest of the body, according to doctors Louis Bujan and Roger Mieusset of Toulouse University. By wearing a special undergarment or a ring-like device which holds the testicles to the body testicular temperature rises just enough to cut down sperm production.

A test of nine men fitted either with the undergarment or the ring produced only one pregnancy in 159 feminine fertile cycles. One baby turned out to be by a man who had cheated and not used the method for several weeks.

The doctors maintain that the method has no side effects and is reversible.
